About this project

Applidium ported the best multimedia player, VLC, on iPhone and iPad. This free application allows reading of most of video formats on Apple devices.

First multimedia player alternative to iTunes on iOS (installed base), VLC application has been an international success upon its publication:

• The first 4 months, 4.9 million downloads were recorded, half of the United States and the United Kingdom.
• In 2010, the VLC application was the third most downloaded iPad application on the App Store.
• 80% of users have downloaded the updates to the application.
• The application VLC has received strong media coverage (Gizmodo, ReadWriteWeb, Reuters...).

Applidium has completed the first port of the VLC video player on a mobile platform, generating a worldwide success.

Only the power of the iPad or iPhone limit decoding of a few videos.
