About this project

This application appears to be the first end-user interface of France Televisions brand new live news publishing system. The app, available on the AppStore and the Android Market, is split into 5 parts:

• Live coverage, hot news made of short messages, directly dispatched from the France Televisions newsroom for enhanced reactivity.
• Headlines.
• Tops, gathering of most commented and shared topics.
• Regions, local news.
• Pictures, slideshows and videos.

Each post is enriched by a detailed view made of text, pictures, videos and sounds accessible for the user.

From our stand point, main areas of focus were communication optimization, caching management and push notification system. We used the HTTP long-polling technology which lets us deliever realtime notifications on any platform (Android, iOS, or any other).
